The art of poker war

The beauty of poker is such that every discrete games has its own character , and that character is also dynamic and fluid as it is a function of people entering and leaving the table. This makes every online poker game a situational battle of wits and guts.

As in any battle there are various levels of soldiers involved. The majorities are soldiers, a few are officers and the pyramid keeps getting smaller as one goe higher. The same is the case while dueling it out on a poker table. There will be passive-weak players, also referred to as calling stations who call and will eventually lose all their chips. These are in turn surrounded by emotionless 'rocks', maniacs and crafty players who tend to mix it up a lot. Interestingly rocks will beat maniacs; maniacs will actually beat crafty players and crafty players will beat rocks and thus the poker duel continues.

Thus a very sure shot way of surviving on the poker battle field is to be able to constantly adjust and vary one's own game, reacting to the manner in which your opponents play while keeping your own style as enigmatic as possible.

It is very difficult to play the opponent and not the cards when you start out in online poker. When you're sitting at a no-limit table at the World Series Of Poker you should feel free to drive your pocket Queens as far and as hard as you can, but online with maniacs to the left of you and calling stations to the right there is a very good chance you'll need to see a third Lady before you can breathe a little easier.
