Omaha poker
Omaha poker can be called a variation or a form of Texas Hold'em poker. A Hi/Lo form of Omaha is played where the best and the worst hands split the pot (if the worst hand fulfills the low requirements). Omaha Hi has the player with the best holding scoop up the pot.
Omaha Hi/Lo is usually played with fixed limits. It can also be played in Pot-Limit form. Omaha Hi is played in Pot-Limit and is widely enjoyed online.
Poker veterans usually prefer to play Omaha as it brings in big bucks in a very short period of time. The game is fairly simple to a player familiar with the dynamics of Texas Hold'em. The hand ranking and the betting pattern is exactly the same as in Texas Hold'em. However, a major difference is in the number of hole cards. In Texas Hold'em you are dealt two cards, whereas in Omaha you are dealt four. That way a player will have more hand combinations while creating his best hand, even though he has to use only two cards.
In Texas Hold'em a player can choose to use only one card, or even play the board, which is not possible in Omaha. A good starting hand would be to get a high pair with two other cards in the same suit as the paired cards or a hand with many straight and flush options.
While playing Omaha Hi/Lo a good starting hand is one which gives the player a chance to draw to both the high hand and the low hand, ideally the wheel (ace-to-five straight).
